Don’t make these mistakes in a job interview!

 October 30th to November 4th

Hey everyone! Yes! We have finally returned to our weekly videos. It’s been a fun and challenging fall for us as we get the in-company programs up and running all around Spain. We have also changed our website which we hope will become a resource for you in time.

Although you all are working in companies it is always a good idea to know how to act in job interviews. Even for internal promotions nowadays you may have to go through an interview process. This week we are going to look at a video with Strauss Zelnick who is a well-known America businessman. He tells us a few things NOT to do in a job interview. As always, after the video we have some questions for debate. Enjoy!

  1. What are the three tips that Strauss Zelnick gives about interviews?
  2. Do you agree with these in theory? In reality? Why or why not?
  3. Do you think that the same tips/ guidelines apply to job interviews in your city? Explain.
  4. Why do you think that genders are paid unequally?
  5. Brainstorm 3 other tips that you would offer to someone going to an interview.

If you want to watch a video with more English language tips for job interviews you can see another short video here.

IDIOM: We’ll cross that bridge when we get/come to it/there. (expression): Don’t worry about something until the situation actually happens.

When we travel to England, my colleague has the upper hand because he speaks much better English than me.

There is no need to stress about a hypothetical crisis. We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

I told the boss about my concerns about possible lawsuit (demandas) for this problem. He said we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.
